“The Cleveland Browns thank Kellen for his contributions to this organization over the past five years,” said Browns General Manager George Kokinis. “We appreciate his passion for the game and wish him success in Tampa Bay. The draft picks we have obtained through this deal will give us greater flexibility as we look to infuse more talent and create competition and depth on this football team.”Passion for the game is exactly right. Winslow is one of the very few players on the Browns to actually have a passion for the game. Why are we trading him away? This is an outrage!
Obviously the new management did not pay much attention. If they had, they would have seen that Winslow was the WRONG receiver to trade away (I'm looking at you, Braylon). I still can't believe this. Trading away Winslow proves to me that these two new clowns in charge don't really know this team — all they know is the bad reputation the national media keeps heaping on Winslow.
Add this move to the apparent Mangini-Rogers snubbing feud and it all equals disaster for the Cleveland Browns. Talk about starting off on the wrong foot. Apparently, no matter who's in charge, the Browns just can't get their act together.
It's a shame it has come to this to get me to start blogging again. After the travesty that was the Super Bowl, I'd hope to put the misery of the 2008 season behind me and start blogging with enthusiasm and excitement for 2009.
Apparently, the Browns don't want fans to get excited about next season.
